In search of the authentically mighty

Plato understood this centuries ago, and here we are in 2023 overwhelmed with entitlement and discrimination.

Plato, one of the most influential philosophers in history, condemned the world in a sense not necessarily theological but rather as a hater of truth and a lover of appearance. In his perspective, the world was a collective entity driven by the pursuit of gain and pleasure, rather than knowledge and virtue. This worldview from Plato raises important questions about the nature of a human’s social circle and the impact it can have on one's pursuit of truth, wisdom, and genuine education.

A human's social circle is an essential aspect of their life, as it greatly influences their beliefs, values, and actions. Plato suggests that the majority of people in the world are preoccupied with materialistic pursuits, seeking personal gain and pleasure rather than engaging in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. This collective mindset can create an environment where appearance takes precedence over truth, where the superficial and illusory are celebrated while deeper truths are neglected.

However, Plato also highlights the existence of a few good and wise individuals who stand apart from the crowd. These individuals possess true education, which in Plato's philosophy means a deep understanding of the world, the capacity for critical thinking, and a commitment to seeking wisdom and virtue. These individuals are the embodiment of the pursuit of knowledge that Plato values.

For those few good and wise individuals, their social circle becomes a crucial element in their journey towards truth and genuine education. Surrounding oneself with like-minded individuals who share a passion for knowledge and virtue can be a source of support, inspiration, and intellectual growth. Engaging in meaningful conversations, debates, and collaborations with such individuals can challenge one's beliefs, encourage critical thinking, and foster a deeper understanding of the world.

However, Plato's perspective also emphasizes the potential isolation and opposition that these few good and wise individuals may face. Their commitment to truth and genuine education often puts them at odds with the world. Their pursuit of knowledge instead of materialistic gains can bring them into conflict with societal norms and values. As a result, they may find themselves banded together against the majority who prioritize appearance and worldly pursuits over the pursuit of truth.

In conclusion, Plato's quotation sheds light on the importance of a human's social circle in their quest for truth and genuine education. While the world may be driven by the pursuit of gain and pleasure rather than knowledge, those few good and wise individuals who prioritize truth and wisdom can find solace and inspiration in their like-minded companions. However, they may also face opposition from the world, as their commitment to truth can challenge societal norms. It is through this interplay between the social circle and the world that individuals can navigate their path towards genuine education, striving to rise above the superficial and embrace the pursuit of knowledge and virtue.

This is a message and call to the mighty among us! My name is Chris Gritti and I’d like a seat at the table please.

Nitti Gritti

Greetings from Chris

Hi there, I’m Chris (Nitti) Gritti and I’m a Mental Health Coach.

Lets just keep this clear and simple for full transparency.

I am not a college educated psychologist nor can I prescribe medications.  I am certified in cognitive behavioral therapy, but the bulk of my knowledge comes from life experience.  Tons and tons of trial and error which equals tons and tons of mistakes.  Those mistakes taught me that radical self acceptance, self love, and core confidence all come from choosing to let go of the victimhood identity and embracing the responsibility of the outcomes of our life choices.

I’ve found my passion in helping others get on their own team and believe in themselves again. I am not the right Mental Health Coach for everyone, but I might be the right fit for you, so look around. Check out my content on YouTube and IG if you don’t get a clear vibe on me here at the site. No matter what i want to commend you for looking for someone to help you, and I wish you the best in finding the right therapist for you.

Be Unapologetically You.

It’s okay if people don’t like you.

Mahalo and Aloha,

Chris Gritti
